November MEC Meeting - Tuesday, Nov. 7

The November MEC meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, in the standing COSAC meeting time from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Board Room. COSAC is cancelled to accommodate this change.

A Night at the Theater - Wednesday, Nov. 8

Join us at the Ahmanson Theater on November 8 for the musical "The Light in the Piazza." Winner of six 2005 Tony Awards, this romantic musical features the talents of Adam Guittel and Craig Lucas in an adaptation of Elizabeth Spencer's novella. The cost is $110 per person for center orchestra seating and includes a light buffet dinner beginning at 6 p.m., prior to the 8 p.m. show. Limit two tickets per physician. "Russia" Lecture by Stephen Geller, M.D. - Friday, Nov. 10

Cedars-Sinai Emeritus Medical Staff will present a lecture on Russia by Stephen A. Geller, M.D., on Friday, Nov. 10, in the Harvey Morse Auditorium from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch is free for enrolled members of the Emeritus Staff. Road to a Cure Gala - Thursday, Nov. 16

The Board of Governors will present the first Lifetime Achievement Award to producer/director Walter Grauman at the Cedars-Sinai gala, "Road to a Cure," at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Thursday, Nov. 16. Grauman is one of the founders of the Cedars-Sinai "Comedy and Magic Channel," which airs in patient rooms. The event begins at 6 p.m. with a reception and silent auction, followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Center for Cancer Research at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. A Night at the Copa - Sunday, Nov. 19

The Save A Heart Foundation will honor C. Noel Bairey Merz, M.D., at the 2006 Heart Saver Award Gala on Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills. The black tie event begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and dancing at 7 p.m. Tickets are $400 each.
