Cedars-Sinai physicians have submitted a record number of nominations for the 2007 Maggie Stempson-Carter Excellence in Caring Award. This year, a total of 36 physicians nominated 31 nurses for this prestigious award.


NPI Compliance Must Be Met by May 23 Deadline

Medical staff members who have not yet submitted their National Provider Identifier (NPI) to Cedars-Sinai are now at risk of administrative suspension from the medical staff on May 23, 2007.


Pergolide (Permax) Linked to Heart Valve Damage; Withdrawn from Market

The FDA has issued an advisory that pergolide (marketed as Permax) has been withdrawn from the market due to the potential for heart valve damage.

 


 

Physician Sessions Set to Begin April 24

In just 10 days, your opportunity to assess and test the three vendor products competing to be selected as Cedars-Sinai's core clinical information technology system begins. The process of final selection is user-driven and relies on the active participation of our medical staff.

There are basically three ways you can learn about the Cerner, Eclipsys and Epic systems, to compare the three and provide your input in a formal review process.


Cedars-Sinai's 22nd Annual Yom Ha'Shoah Holocaust Remembrance Day program, chaired by Joel Geiderman, M.D., will be held today from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium. The program will include a candle lighting ceremony by Holocaust survivors.

Harold, M.D., immediate past Chief of Staff at Cedars-Sinai, will receive the American Heart Association's prestigious "Passion of the Heart" Award in recognition of his leadership in the field of cardiology on Saturday, April 14, at the 2007 Heart Awards Gala at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
