Holocaust Remembrance Day Program - April 13

Cedars-Sinai will host its annual Holocaust Remembrance Day program, chaired by Joel Geiderman, M.D., on Friday, April 13, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Harvey Morse Auditorium. (Boxed lunches will be available at 11:30 a.m.) The guest speaker is Deborah E. Lipstadt, Ph.D., Dorot Professor of Modern Jewish and Holocaust Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, where she directs the Institute for Jewish Studies. AHA Heart Awards Gala Honoring John G. Harold, M.D. - April 14

The American Heart Association will host its annual Heart Awards Gala on Saturday, April 14 at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills. Honorees include John G. Harold, M.D., who will receive the 2007 Passion of the Heart Award for his distinguished career in cardiology and longstanding leadership in cardiovascular medicine. Cedars-Sinai physicians receive a discount price of $500 per seat (reduced from the regular ticket price of $1,000 each). National Kidney Foundation's Gift of Life Celebration - April 29

The National Kidney Foundation of Southern California will host the 28th Annual Gift of Life Celebration on Sunday, April 29 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. Honorees include Elaine S. Kamil, M.D., who will receive "The Spirit of Nephrology Award." Dr. Kamil is the clinical director of pediatric nephrology and program director of the Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program at Cedars-Sinai. Event tickets are $350 each.
