Deadline to Submit NPI is Tuesday, April 10

After April 10, medical staff members will be considered delinquent if they have not provided their NPI number and will be subject to the delinquency process as exists in their department.

Ketek (Telithromycin) Contraindicated in Myasthenia Gravis Patients

Sanofi-aventis has issued an advisory letter to healthcare professionals regarding Ketek (telithromycin). The label has been revised to add a boxed warning and contraindication for myasthenia gravis patients.



Vendor Demos to Begin April 23

One of the most important aspects of the search for the best clinical information technology system to meet our future needs is the vendor demonstration process scheduled to begin April 23. This is our opportunity to actually test the three systems from the narrowed list of vendors selected in the first phase of the process.

Rare Double Transplant Saves Patient

Patient Kelli Jaunsen, 23, headed home last Friday after a rare double organ transplant and nearly seven weeks of hospitalization. In a 16-hour procedure that spanned two days, transplant teams performed Cedars-Sinai's second heart/liver transplant on Kelli - the fifth in the Western U.S.

In celebration of National Doctor's Day, members of Cedars-Sinai leadership will be handing out free Starbucks gift cards to the medical staff on Friday, March 30 from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the South Tower Mezzanine parking level.
