Pioneer in Medicine Award Nominations

Award Will be Presented at the 2007 Annual Meeting

Nominations for the 2007 Pioneer in Medicine award are being accepted now through Monday, June 11. Please note that only attending category members of the medical staff can submit nominations.

This prestigious award is given to a member of the medical staff who has made clinical and research contributions recognized at Cedars-Sinai and in the national or international medical communities.

Candidates for the Pioneer in Medicine award must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. The Candidate shall have made a major contribution to the Medical Center;
  2. The Candidate shall be or have been involved in research;
  3. The Candidate shall have been published in national or international peer reviewed journals;
  4. The Candidate shall be a teacher and positive role model;
  5. The Candidate shall be an innovator or have changed the medical world around him or her;
  6. The Candidate shall have made clinical contributions recognized nationally; and
  7. The Candidate shall have been a physician at the Medical Center during a major part of his or her career.

To nominate a candidate for the Pioneer in Medicine award, please submit a letter with detailed information about the nominee's qualifications to William W. Brien, M.D., Vice Chief of Staff, c/o the Medical Affairs Office, North Tower Suite 2211. Additional materials, such as your nominee's curriculum vitae and key contributions to the literature, are welcome. All materials must be received by the June 11 deadline.

A medical staff committee will select the honoree, and the award will be presented at the 2007 Annual Meeting on October 15.
