Searching for a Specific Test Result

You can search for test results by test name, test code, or any part of a test name or test code. If the test is ordered as part of a battery or by itself, it will be found. The right hand column titled "Part of" shows what panel or battery the test belongs to, if appropriate. If the test has additional information to be viewed, a hotlinked "&" will be displayed next to the result. Once the "&" has been selected a popup window will display with the additional information.

You can search for a specific test by completing the following steps:

  1. Select your patient in Web/VS;
  2. Click in the text box under "Find Any Test";
  3. Type in the name (or partial name) of a test or its ordering code;
  4. Click the GO button located next to text box in the "Find Any Test" section.

Note: When searching for tests by name we recommend you do a partial search. For example, if you are searching for "urea nitrogen," just enter "urea." The search results will provide you with the appropriate results associated with this test name. Searching by a test ordering code will provide the results for that particular test ordering code only. This may prevent you from finding what you are looking for since some tests have several different ordering codes (e.g. Glucose).
