Yom Kippur Services - Oct. 8 and 9

Yom Kippur services will be held in Harvey Morse Auditorium on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. Pre-taped services will be shown on closed circuit television. Rabbi Mel Gottlieb, Ph.D., will lead the services.

Advances in Ovarian Cancer Conference - Oct. 16

This conference will be held in Harvey Morse Auditorium on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. and is designed for physicians who treat women with gynecologic cancers, cancer researchers, graduate students, postdoctoral and medical fellows, and other healthcare professionals involved in aspects of ovarian cancer care and investigation. Annual Meeting of the Medical Staff - Oct. 20

The annual meeting of Cedars-Sinai Medical Staff will be held Monday, Oct. 20, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Among the program highlights, William W. Brien, M.D., will present the Chief of Staff Award and the winner of the 2008 Pioneer in Medicine Award will be announced.

Emeritus Society Lecture by Robert Klapper, M.D. - Oct. 24

Orthopedic surgeon and sculptor Robert Klapper, M.D., will present an Emeritus Society lunch lecture Friday, Oct. 24, at noon in Harvey Morse Auditorium on "Michelangelo's Sculptures: How He Manipulated Anatomy." Information: Contact Dr. Klapper at rklappermd@aol.com.

Advances in Facial Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery - Oct. 25 and 26

This two-day symposium will be held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25 and 26, at The London West Hollywood, 1020 N. San Vicente Blvd. The symposium will be divided into multiple sessions, each ending with a panel discussion. Facial surgery topics to be covered include revision rhinoplasty, ethnic rhinoplasty, craniosynostosis, otoplasty, profileplasty, facial trauma reconstruction, rib graft harvest technique and facial paralysis.
