Scott Karlan, M.D., medical staff secretary, was recently elected to the Medical Executive Committee as a member-at-large, joining Thomas Webb, M.D., who was re-elected as a member-at-large. Their two-year terms begin Jan. 1, 2010.


Room renovations to take two years

The 5 Northwest Cardiology unit has been moved to 6 Southeast in preparation for the renovation of 5 Northwest. The remodeling will take place over the next two years.

Physicians get 'Dirty' and enjoy the Bowl

Summer fun was in abundance at two recent events.

Physicians relived the summer of 1963 with the stage production of "Dirty Dancing" at the Pantages Theater in May. In July, medical staff members headed to the Hollywood Bowl for food, patriotic music and the annual Fireworks Spectacular.

Drs. Siegel, Gilberg, Liu and McKenna

Dr. Siegel, director of the Cardiac Noninvasive Laboratory at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and cardiology director of the Cedars-Sinai Marfan Center, was treated to brownies and a $561 donation for his research from eight members of Brownie Troop 60473.

How to view PACS images remotely

PACS Images in Web/VS are available via PACS Web servers, however, there are different servers for on-campus and remote viewing.


Majority of local cases are A (H1N1) virus

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has revised its guidelines regarding influenza. Of patients with positive influenza tests detected locally, the majority of cases are positive for the novel influenza A (H1N1) virus.

Team receives awards, shares presentations

Members of the Cedars-Sinai Comprehensive Transplant Center received multiple honors at the American Transplant Congress held in Boston.
