Medical-surgical unit to move Friday

The surgical ICU moved to its new home on 5 SCCT earlier this week as part of a plan to add beds and separate it from the newly created neuro-surgical intensive care unit.


Nuclear imaging studies may be affected

There is a worldwide shortage of Technetium-99, as well as other medical radionuclides. This may impact some nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology studies.


P&T Committee approvals released

Among other items, the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee released physician guidelines for neuraxial anesthesia, and created an order set for hypothermia and normothermia.

CSMC among few labs to do urine screening

Cedars-Sinai Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is among the few labs in the country offering a urine test that can give physicians answers when a standard prostate cancer screening comes back negative but disease is still suspected.
