ASAP, Inpatient Phase 1 coming in November

Two new CS-Link programs are set to launch overnight starting Saturday, Nov. 14.

ASAP will replace emSTAT in the Emergency Department, and the first phase of the CS-Link Inpatient program will go live.

P&T Committee announces approvals

The Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee added Febuxostat (Uloric®) to the formulary, announced that Humulin R® will be replaced with Novolin R®, and discontinued the compounding of the "GI Cocktail" by the pharmacy.

 
 
Calvin J. Hobel, M.D., accepts the 2009 Pioneer in Medicine Award at the Annual Meeting of the Medical Staff.

Robert Bernstein, M.D., pediatric orthopaedic surgeon, receives Chief of Staff Award

Calvin J. Hobel, M.D., who founded the first translational medicine program in maternal-fetal medicine in the United States, received the 2009 Pioneer in Medicine award.

The honor was announced at the Annual Meeting of the Medical Staff on Monday, Oct. 26.


Ballots due Nov. 16

Election ballots for the position of Chief of Staff for the term beginning Jan. 1, 2010, will be sent out on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009. Please return completed ballots to the Medical Staff Office by 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009.

If your patient is in a monitored bed, you can view the Live Waves directly in Web/VS.

 

Rollout limited to high-risk areas

The H1N1 vaccine is still in very limited supply. Cedars-Sinai expects to get 500 additional doses next week and more will likely follow, according to Rekha Murthy, M.D., hospital epidemiologist.


John G. Harold, M.D., and Shlomo Melmed, M.D., were selected for Mastership in the American College of Physicians.

David Rimoin, M.D., Ph.D., and Jean Lopategui, M.D., were honored by the Beverly Hills City Council.
