Physician News

Robert M. Davidson, M.D.

Dr. Davidson was recently appointed to the Advisory Oversight Committee of the California Department of Public Health for the Elective Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) Pilot Program.

He is a cardiologist with the Division of Cardiology at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute. He had previously served as clinical chief of cardiology.

 

Howard M. Sandler, M.D.

Dr. Sandler has been selected to become a Fellow of the American Society for Radiation Oncology. He will receive his designation on Nov. 2 at a ceremony during the society’s 52nd Annual Meeting in San Diego.

Dr. Sandler is chair of Radiation Oncology at Cedars-Sinai’s Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.

  

Keith L. Black, M.D.

Dr. Black is featured in the National Academy of Sciences African American History Program. Click here to view his biography and a collection of photos on the academy’s Web site.

He serves as chair of the Department of Neurosurgery and director of the Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

  

Shlomo Melmed, M.D.

Dr. Melmed has been appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to the Independent Citizen's Oversight Committee, the governing board of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine.

Dr. Melmed is senior vice president for Academic Affairs and dean of the Medical Faculty at Cedars-Sinai. 

  

Boris Catz, M.D.

Dr. Catz was interviewed as part of The Endocrine Society’s video history project. In the one-hour video of Dr. Catz, who is renowned for his contributions to clinical thyroidology, provides his perspectives on endocrinology research. Click here to see the video.

Dr. Catz served as chief of Clinical Endocrinology at Cedars-Sinai from 1983-87 and is now a member of the emeritus staff. An annual lecture is held in his honor.
