New VTE Prophylaxis Form to be Introduced

Physician meet-and-greet planned for Feb. 8

Physicians are invited to a morning meet-and-greet to learn about a new venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis order form.

The session will be held from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, on the South Mezzanine level physician parking lot. The form will be introduced in all med/surg admission packets starting in February.

Pulmonary embolism is the most common preventable cause of death among hospitalized patients, causing or contributing to 5 to 10 percent of all hospital deaths, according to The Joint Commission.
