Medical Board Requires Posted Notice

Starting Sunday, June 27, California physicians will be required to inform their patients that they are licensed by the Medical Board of California. They also must provide patients with the board’s contact information.

Cedars-Sinai has posted the required signs inside the medical center.

Physicians in private practice can choose one of the three methods below to comply with the regulation:

  • Written statement signed by the patient stating that the patient understands the physician is licensed
  • Notice added to existing patient materials
  • Sign posted in a waiting room or exam room
