Tower crane goes up at Pavilion site

A 257-ft. tall tower crane is the latest addition to the Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion construction site. The crane for the 11-story building went up May 22 and 23 and became fully operational on May 26.

The next construction milestone will be the final mat foundation concrete pours on Saturday, June 12 and Saturday, June 19.  During these pours, all southbound lanes of San Vicente between Third Street and Beverly Boulevard, as well as the intersection of San Vicente and Gracie Allen, will be closed to traffic.  Parking Lot 4 will remain open and the shuttles will be operational, but expect possible traffic delays in the area.

The rigging crew helps maneuver the long horizontal jib (the crane's working arm) into position.
