Remembering Norman Schulman, M.D.

A memorial service honoring the life of Norman Schulman, M.D., will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, in Harvey Morse Auditorium.

Getting Results in our Fight Against Infections

One of the most visible signs of Cedars-Sinai's commitment to patient safety is our hospital-wide hand hygiene campaign. The message that "clean hands save lives" is hard to miss, with reminders posted on elevator doors and in many other locations around the hospital and hand sanitizer dispensers in every patient room and waiting area.

Plavix® gets boxed warning

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has added a boxed warning to Plavix® (clopidogrel), alerting patients and healthcare professionals Plavix can be less effective in people who cannot metabolize the drug to convert it to its active form.

The AHSP's tower crane rises nearly 257 feet into the sky and is bolted to a large concrete pad at its base.

Tower crane goes up at Pavilion site

A 257-ft. tall tower crane is the latest addition to the Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion construction site. The crane for the 11-story building went up May 22 and 23 and became fully operational on May 26.


Research Corner

People with BAV more likely to have brain aneurysms

A new study shows that people with a common heart defect may also be more likely to have brain aneurysms. The study is published in the May 4, 2010, print issue of Neurology®.

Regenerative Medicine Scientific Symposium - June 14

Some of the world's leading scientists will discuss their latest findings on how to regenerate the heart and brain at the first ever Cedars-Sinai Regenerative Medicine and Scientific Symposium. The conference will be held on Monday, June 14, in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Clive Svendsen, Ph.D., director of the Cedars-Sinai Regenerative Medicine Institute, and Eduardo Marbán, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute, will be the host faculty.
