PACS Images can be accessed in Web/VS as follows:

  1. Log into Web/VS and select a patient in the usual way.
  2. Select PACS Images from the "Reports" menu OR click the "PACS" icon displayed to the left of a report title on either the Imaging Reports list or the Recent Results listing.

Irwin M. Weinstein, M.D., Endowed Lectureship in Health and Public Policy – Oct. 8

Peter Littlejohns, clinical and public health director of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence at the National Health Service in London, will speak on “Comparative Effectiveness: A Transatlantic Perspective on Delivering a High Quality Service Through the Use of Evidence.” The annual lecture was established in 1991 to honor Irwin M. Weinstein, M.D., an international authority on clinical hematology. It will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, in Harvey Morse Auditorium.

Heart Transplantation and Advanced Heart Failure – Oct. 15 and 16

This two-day course features expert presenters providing in-depth knowledge about advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary hypertension and transplant cardiology. The program will be held on Friday, Oct. 15, and Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel, 9620 Airport Blvd., Los Angeles.

Annual Meeting of the Medical Staff – Oct. 18

The annual lunch meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18, in Harvey Morse Auditorium. The program includes reports from the Chief of Staff and Cedars-Sinai’s CEO. The 2010 Pioneer in Medicine Award will be presented along with the Chief of Staff Award. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. No RSVP required.

Physicians are welcome to attend a reception and program on Tuesday, Oct. 19, for medical students wishing to learn about residency opportunities at Cedars-Sinai. Students will take a tour of the campus at 5:30 p.m.; the reception and dinner will run from 6 to 7 p.m.; and the program will begin at 7 p.m. Events will be held in Harvey Morse Auditorium. “Divination and DNA:  The Hazard, but Inevitability, of ‘Divination’ in Our New Genomics” – Oct. 20

Mark J. Bliton, Ph.D., associate professor of Medical Ethics and Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, will discuss “Divination and DNA.” The Ethics Noon Conference will be held Wednesday, Oct. 20, from noon to 1 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m.

Comprehensive Approach to the Treatment of Obesity – Oct. 22

Faculty physicians and staff of Cedars-Sinai Weight Loss Program will provide a comprehensive review of evolving treatment options for obesity. This includes the use of weight loss drugs, and current and emerging surgical treatments for weight loss. The one-day course runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, in Harvey Morse Auditorium.

Obesity Symposium Agenda

Advanced Laparoscopic Gynecologic Surgery Conference – Oct. 23-25

This highly interactive three-day course is designed for OB/Gyn physicians and gynecologic surgeons who wish to enhance their laparoscopic skills and apply these skills to perform more advanced gynecologic laparoscopic surgeries. An iPod Touch containing all conference presentations and a variety of surgical videos will be provided to each participant as part of their registration fee. The conference will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, through Monday, Oct. 25, in Harvey Morse Auditorium.

Laparoscopic Gynecologic Surgery Conference Agenda

Advances in Multi-Specialty Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Symposium and Bernard G. Sarnat, MD, Lectureship – Nov. 6-7

This two-day symposium offers an opportunity to learn new techniques and reinforce skills and methods through presentations, video, panel discussion and interaction with acknowledged experts in plastic surgery, facial reconstruction and dermatology. The conference will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, and Sunday, Nov. 7, in Harvey Morse Auditorium.
