The Jewish World of Broadway – Nov. 4

Cantor Nathan Lam and some of his colleagues from the film “100 Voices: A Journey Home” will perform a musical review – "The Jewish World of Broadway” – at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Cedars-Sinai Alumni Association is sponsoring the event. Registration and socializing begin at 5:30 p.m. and a question-and-answer session will follow the performance. Tickets can be purchased by cash or check at the door and are $15 for the general public and $5 for paid alumni members and residents. The Great American Stickup – Nov. 5

The Cedars-Sinai Emeritus Physicians Society presents the third annual Bernard Strauss, M.D., Lecture with speaker Robert Scheer, professor of journalism at USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. The lecture is free and lunch is $15 for non-members with reservations and $20 for those without. Lunch is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to noon with the lecture following from noon until 1 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Call Kate Samuels at (310) 892-1331 to reserve your spot.

This two-day symposium offers an opportunity to learn new techniques and reinforce skills and methods through presentations, video, panel discussion and interaction with acknowledged experts in plastic surgery, facial reconstruction and dermatology. The conference will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, and Sunday, Nov. 7, in Harvey Morse Auditorium.

Advances in Neurology and Neurosurgery 2010, Regional Meeting: Bakersfield, California - Nov. 13

This conference discusses established and emerging treatment options for brain tumors, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, degenerative neurological and spinal disorders, and endovascular and stroke treatment. It will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 7 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 3100 Camino Del Rio Court, Bakersfield.

Run for Her – Nov. 14

The sixth annual Run for Her friendship walk supports ovarian cancer research, treatment and awareness. The Cedars-Sinai Cancer Research Institute and the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute sponsor the 5K run and friendship walk. The event takes place Sunday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at Pan Pacific Park, 7600 Beverly Blvd. For registration and more information, visit their Web site at www.runforher.com.

Arrhythmia Symposium at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute – Dec. 10

This symposium will provide information on advances in the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disorders. Participants will develop a detailed approach for patients with supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias, bradycardias, pacemakers and defibrillators. The conference will take place on Friday, Dec. 10, from 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium.

Emergency Medicine Symposium: A Practical Update – Dec. 10

This one-day course will provide an overview on a broad range of topics pertinent to emergency medicine practitioners. Cedars-Sinai faculty will present lectures on topics ranging from disaster preparedness and physician wellbeing to the management of seizures and obstetrical emergencies. The symposium will take place on Friday, Dec. 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel, 300 S. Doheny Drive.

This three-day course will use a practical approach to all aspects of gated SPECT, and offers multiple sessions that focus on cardiac CT and its relationship to nuclear cardiology. The program will take place Friday, Jan. 21, through Sunday, Jan. 23, at the Sofitel Los Angeles, 8555 Beverly Blvd.

Symposium on Neurovascular Disease - Jan 29

This course will provide information on changes in the many facets of neurovascular disease, including stroke due to carotid or intracranial atherosclerotic disease and thromboembolic causes, hemorrhage due to cerebral aneurysms, dissections or vascular malformations, and other causes. This conference will be held on Saturday, Jan. 29, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:55 p.m. at the Casa del Mar Hotel, 1910 Ocean Way, Santa Monica.
