In Memoriam

Irwin V. Frankel, M.D., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 20, at age 80. Dr. Frankel joined the Medical Staff in May 1996.

New PCA Modules Go Live on Dec. 12

In an ongoing effort to ensure the quality and safety of patient care, Cedars-Sinai will go live on Monday, Dec. 12, with an upgraded Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) device that will be enabled with end-tidal CO2 (etCO2) or capnography monitoring, if the patient requires it. In addition, all adult PCAs will be monitored with pulse oximetry.

To help reduce readmission rates, Cedars-Sinai is participating in a federally-funded multi-center study that is testing a transition care intervention to help patients manage symptoms of heart failure.
