Temporary Unit Closures for Duct Cleaning and Painting

8 North to be Closed Sept. 3-11

Cedars-Sinai continues to work on cleaning the air ducts and checking the air balance in all inpatient rooms to help ensure the health, safety and comfort of patients. Because the rooms need to be closed while this work is performed, they will be cleaned and painted during this time. Some plumbing fixtures will also be upgraded.

Free Flu Vaccinations Available Starting Sept. 6

It's a fact: the most effective way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated. Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6, Cedars-Sinai will begin offering free flu vaccinations to all physicians and employees at various locations on and off-campus.

Taking New Online Patient Portal for a Test Drive

EIS is preparing to activate the CS-Link™ patient portal at MyCSLink.org.

Initially, the portal will be tested out in a limited fashion by Cedars-Sinai employees who receive their care at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, according to Ray Duncan, MD, chief technology officer at Cedars-Sinai. After the pilot program, access will be given to other patients of the health system.

Vancomycin for Outpatients; New Priority Boxed Warnings

Pharmacy Focus

The Pharmacy Department has started allowing for oral vancomycin to be dispensed from the inpatient supply for outpatients.

Clozapine, foscarnet and infliximab are among the medications on the new boxed warnings list.
