Dinner Raffle, Laugh Factory Tickets for Blood and Platelet Donors - Month of February

This month, Cedars-Sinai's blood donor facility will hold weekly drawings to win dinner for two at one of the following restaurants: The Capital Grille, Chaya Brasserie, Il Covo and Red O. Also, everyone who donates through April 30 will receive one complimentary ticket for two admissions to the Laugh Factory’s Hollywood or Long Beach locations (two drink minimum purchase required). To donate blood, contact John Barr at barrjx@cshs.org or ext. 3-2637. To donate platelets, contact Nina Vinick at vinickn@cshs.org or ext. 3-2414. The Rita and Taft Schreiber Blood Donor Facility is located in Room 1690 on the Street Level of the South Tower.

Dancing with the Risks - Feb. 3

Steven Frankel, PhD, JD, will be the speaker at this six-hour workshop in law, ethics and regulation focusing on three of the four most frequent causes for actions against mental health professionals. Marlene Wald Memorial Wear Red Day - Feb. 3

Support women's heart health by wearing red on Friday, Feb. 3, when Cedars-Sinai will mark the sixth annual Marlene Wald Memorial Wear Red Day. Cardiac risk assessments will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and Michelle Hamilton, MD, director of the Heart Failure Program at Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute, will speak at noon. Both events are held in Harvey Morse Auditorium

Another Kind of DNR: Documentary Films, Patient Rights and Social Responsibility - Feb. 15

Tess Jones, PhD, director, Arts and Humanities in Healthcare Program at the Center for Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus, will speak at the Ethics Noon Conference from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m.

Hollywood Bowl Concert and Fireworks - July 3

Celebrate the United States' 236th Independence Day with rousing patriotic music and the familiar tunes of special guest Barry Manilow at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday, July 3. Annual Sand N' Snore - July 20

Dig out the camping gear for this annual event at the Jonathon Beach Club in Santa Monica. Set up your tent at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 20, enjoy a BBQ dinner and a night of fun with family and colleagues. Breakfast served the next morning. Tickets limited to physicians and their immediate family. Cost is $60 per adult and $40 per child under age 12. Limit one tent per physician.Cost for those who don’t spend the night is $45 per adult and $20 per child under 12.
