Free flu clinic to keep your family protected

Medical staff is invited to bring family members to Feb. 10 flu clinic

Having trouble finding the flu vaccine for family members? Cedars-Sinai is offering a free community flu clinic that medical staff and their family members can attend on Sunday, Feb. 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Educational Conference Center (ECC), located on the North Tower Plaza Level. Cedars-Sinai employees also are welcome to bring family members to this community clinic. Parking will be validated.

Upon arrival, please go to the registration area first, located in the Geri & Richard Brawerman Nursing Institute, Classroom 2058, adjacent to the ECC. If you would like to pre-register, please call (310) 423-9581 today (Friday, Feb. 8).

This flu season has been unusually active, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find the flu vaccine at local physician offices and retail pharmacies. Fortunately, Cedars-Sinai still has plenty of the flu vaccine in stock and will be offering both adult and pediatric doses at the Feb. 10 clinic.

"We have received many requests for this type of clinic due to the flu outbreak, so we are happy to be able to help our medical staff by enabling them to get vaccinations for family members," said Logan Williams, associate director of Community Health & Education, which is co-sponsoring the clinic with Nursing Services. "I encourage physicians to bring their loved ones here for the flu shot, and I also ask that you pre-register to help us make the process go faster and easier for everyone."

Members of the medical staff who would like to get the flu vaccine but cannot attend the Feb. 10 clinic can always receive a free flu vaccination at Employee Health Services, located on the second floor of the Spielberg Building. No appointment is necessary. For more information, call Employee Health Services at (310) 423-3322.
