King Day Celebration Set for Jan. 19

Cedars-Sinai will hold its 13th annual celebration of the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a program Monday, Jan. 19, from noon-1 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium. The event will feature Clarence B. Jones, LLB, who served as an adviser to King, assisting in the drafting of the celebrated "I Have a Dream" speech.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine has implemented whole blood aggregometry, a new and improved method for platelet function testing.

Cedars-Sinai Doctors Help China Surgeons Go Solo

On their first medical mission to central China in 2011 to help orphans with anorectal malformations, Cedars-Sinai physicians and nurses performed life-saving surgeries that local doctors had never seen before. This fall, thanks to a series of innovations the team has implemented since then, Chinese surgeons and nurses were handling similar cases on their own.
