Online nominations for the 2015 Maggie Stempson-Carter Excellence in Caring Award for eligible nurses have been extended. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 27. This annual award is given on behalf of the medical staff to a Cedars-Sinai nurse who exemplifies professionalism, clinical excellence and caring.

6 South Closes Temporarily for Improvements

Patients on 6 South have been relocated to other units so that improvements can be made to the unit to ensure a high level of comfort for our patients. These improvements include air duct cleaning, flooring replacement, electrical installations and upgrades to the nurse call system. The work is expected to be completed by July 2.

Prepare for LA Marathon Street Closures March 15

The LA Marathon will be held Sunday, March 15, and could affect commutes from multiple directions. Numerous street closures will begin at midnight, including some freeway ramps. For much of the day, the only ways to cross the marathon route will be on the 405, 101 or 110 freeways. Traffic delays are possible, so plan accordingly to make sure you arrive on time.

The Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Center is expanding its radiation oncology services. Through a partnership with 21st Century Oncology, the cancer center will provide high-quality radiation oncology services at The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute's Santa Monica location.

Topics Sought for Morgenstern Debate

The Dr. Leon Morgenstern Great Debates in Clinical Medicine Resident Competition committee is soliciting suggestions for a topic for this annual event. The debate will convene for its 12th year on Friday, June 5, at 8 a.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium.
