Andrew R. Ortiz has been appointed senior vice president, Human Resources and Organization Development. He assumes his post July 11.

"Andy has broad executive leadership experience in multiple industries, and has a strong track record of leveraging talent management and business strategies in order to drive growth, innovation and large-scale systems change," said Thomas M. Priselac, president and CEO. "All of which prepares him to be an outstanding match for Cedars-Sinai as we continue our evolution as one of the nation's premier healthcare systems."

Ortiz comes to Cedars-Sinai from Health Net Inc., where he is the senior vice president, Organization Effectiveness, and chief people officer. Previously, he served as the vice president, Talent Management, Diversity and Leadership Development.

"Andy is a strong and innovative leader who understands and appreciates the contributions of each person in the organization, and the importance of engaging our people and advancing their capabilities, and cultivating a culture that fosters high performance, continuous learning, innovation, and teamwork and collaboration," Priselac added.

Ortiz holds a master's degree in organizational leadership from Woodbury University.
