Core Labs Updating Two Tests in April

The Core laboratories in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine are updating two tests in April.

On Monday, April 9, C3, C4, Haptoglobin, IgG (serum only), IgA, IgG, IgM, Prealbumin and Transferin are moving from Beckman Immage to Abbott Architect.

On Monday, April 30, the IgG Synthesis Rate will remain on Beckman Immage. The special testing division will send another update.

The reference ranges that will be in effect after updates are highlighted in yellow. Correlations between methods are ongoing. “Gray analytes” with no correlation data available will be going live at a later date to be announced.

Please also note the bias between methods—and that we’ve highlighted methods with a bias ≥ 10%. Across the board, all correlations that have been completed so far show that the current Beckman methods and new Abbott methods perform nearly identically to one another within total allowable error.
