How to Support Cedars-Sinai’s Hurricane Relief Efforts

By Andy Ortiz
Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Organization Development

For the second time in a few short months, a historic storm has ravaged wide swaths of the southeastern U. S., causing billions of dollars in damage and resulting in the tragic loss of life. The catastrophic impact of Hurricane Michael, which made landfall as a Category 4 storm on Oct. 10 in the Florida panhandle, will be felt for years as communities rebuild.

Cedars-Sinai is eager to help. If you would like to contribute to hurricane relief efforts, you can do so online through a dedicated Cedars-Sinai webpage of the American Red Cross. Employees also may drop off checks at the lockbox in the Community Relations Office, Suite 2416, until Wednesday, Oct. 31. Checks should be made out to "American Red Cross," and the notes section should designate "Hurricane Michael."

To maximize the impact of our employees’ generosity, Cedars-Sinai will match donations dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. Proceeds will be directed to areas of greatest need.

At Cedars-Sinai, we continue to uphold a proud tradition of caring for others in times of adversity. We have given to relief efforts for disasters like Hurricane Florence last month, Hurricane Harvey last year, and earthquakes in Ecuador and Japan in 2016.

Thank you for your generous support of others in moments of great need, and for your unwavering commitment to Cedars-Sinai’s core values and mission.
