Medical Library Offers Classes to Learn New Skills

The Cedars-Sinai Medical Library is offering a variety of classes through the end of the year. All half-hour classes begin at noon and will be held in the Medical Library—Plaza Level, South Tower, Room 2815.

Appraising the Quantitative Literature

What do we look for when reviewing a study? How do we know if the study design is appropriate, if the sample size is big enough? What is a null hypothesis? Are they using the right measurement tool? A class to help answer those questions and more will meet Tuesday, Nov. 6


Learn how to create strategies and search the nursing literature in this essential tool for nursing research. Save your results in your own account, create alerts to keep you updated with new publications in your topic. The class will meet Tuesday, Oct. 23, and Tuesday, Nov. 20.


Learn to create search strategies and search the medical literature. Learn medical subject heading terms and field codes to get a more sensitive search. The class will meet Tuesday, Oct. 30.

EndNote X9 for PC

Learn how to set up an EndNote library, export results from Cedars-Sinai databases to your library and keep track of your citations and PDFs. The class will meet Tuesday, Dec. 11.
