Mandatory Training Must Be Completed by Nov. 1

Cedars-Sinai strives to foster an environment of respect for its employees, knowing they cannot do their best work if they feel disrespected or are subjected to a lack of civility in the workplace.

To uphold this core value and comply with state law, all Cedars-Sinai employees—including those who have taken training earlier this year—must complete preventing discrimination and harassment training by Friday, Nov. 1.

"We are proud of the high-quality care we offer at Cedars-Sinai," said Andy Ortiz, senior vice president of Human Resources. "But we are equally driven to excellence in how we treat each other. It is both our ethical and legal responsibility to ensure that all employees can do their best work in an environment of mutual respect."

All employees, student interns, contingent and contract workers, consultants, faculty and contract physicians are required to take the training, which will be assigned via HealthStream.

The online training is offered by Traliant, Cedars-Sinai's new training partner. Traliant provides an interactive video format divided into brief, schedule-friendly episodes.

"We understand that many employees suffered difficulties with the previous training module, which is why we searched for a new vendor," said Patrick Zvara, executive director of Talent Management and Organization Development. "With Traliant, the learning experience is high quality, interactive and engaging—and has been tested rigorously."
