Wei Yang joins Research Division

The Research Division of the Department of Surgery welcomes Wei Yang, PhD, to Cedars-Sinai. Yang was recruited from Harvard to be the new director of the Cedars-Sinai Biomarker Discovery Platform, a state-of-the-art research mass spectrometry facility being launched this year.

He received his bachelor's degree from the Beijing Institute of Technology in 2001 and his PhD, from Peking University in 2006. From 2006 to 2011,he was a postdoctoral fellow, then staff scientist, at Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.

His research specialty is cancer proteomics using quantitative mass spectrometry. He has worked in the areas of signal transduction, protein modification and protein biomarkers.
He has a distinguished publication record, including original research articles in Cancer Research, Molecular and Cellular Proteomics, Proteomics, Journal of Proteome Research, and Blood.
