Nissen 92pxNicholas Nissen, MD, has been appointed as director of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Cedars-Sinai.

Since joining the Cedars-Sinai faculty in 2001, he has pioneered numerous surgical innovations including minimally invasive surgery of the liver and pancreas, techniques to preserve pancreatic function during surgery, and the management of locally advanced pancreatic cancer. He presently is the primary investigator for a clinical trial using vaccines to treat pancreatic cancer.
