Association for Women in Science Monthly Coffee Hour – Aug. 12

Everyone interested in promoting women in science is invited to this monthly coffee meeting, which takes place the second Tuesday of each month from 4-5 p.m. in Davis 1004.

Sinus Center Patient and Community Outreach Conference – Aug. 13

The Cedars-Sinai Sinus Center conference will take place Wednesday, July 9, from 6-7 p.m. in the Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion, PEC 8. The presenter will be Madison F. Richardson, MD, clinical chief of Otolaryngology at Cedars-Sinai. The conference will combine lectures with an open forum and a question-and-answer session about sinus disease and problems of the ear, nose and throat. Light refreshments will be served. Optimizing Potential Through Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation – Sept. 6

This conference will provide updates in the clinical management and rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injury. It is designed for neurologists, neurosurgeons, internists, family physicians and physiatrists. The conference will take place Saturday, Sept. 6, from 7:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m. at the Luxe Hotel. BRCA Symposium: 20th Anniversary of the Discovery of the BRCA Gene – Sept. 13

This conference will provide information for clinical providers working with BRCA mutation carriers and those at risk regarding inherited gynecologic and breast cancer. The chair of the conference is Beth Y. Karlan, MD, director of the Women's Cancer Program at the Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. State-of-the-Art Spine Care – Oct. 11

The conference will focus on current information on the management of spine patients for the primary care and first contact providers. Spine specialists will present lectures focusing on evaluation and conservative treatment of spinal problems, imaging and techniques available for assistance in diagnosis of a spine problem, pain management, current spine techniques and technologies, and management of the pre- and post-surgical spine patient. Multispecialty Plastic Surgery Symposium and the Bernard G. Sarnat, MD, Lectureship – Nov. 14-16

The goal of the course is to improve patient safety and physician performance while achieving the best possible outcomes for aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. In addition, the course will provide physician attendees comprehensive information on nonsurgical full facial rejuvenation emphasizing combination therapies.
