Ferozali Appointed Director of Medical Education

Fozia Ferozali, MSN, EdD

Fozia Ferozali, MSN, EdD, has been promoted to director of Medical Education effective Jan. 25.

Ferozali is a healthcare leader with 15 years of experience as a clinician, administrator, educator and researcher. She started her career at Cedars-Sinai five years ago as a nurse manager and has served as a nurse consultant, quality assurance director, manager and professor. She has worked extensively alongside physicians on an operational level and as part of process improvement, quality initiatives and medical education.

Ferozali's work on interdisciplinary teams that included physicians and residents is a key strength in this new role. As a nursing educator, she has held faculty appointments at various universities, including area chair of Nursing for the University of Phoenix. She participates in the Association of California Nurse Leaders and is past treasurer. Additionally, she is a certified nurse leader manager. She is a three-time recipient of an Excellence in Leadership Award from the state of California.

As an educator, Ferozali has worked innovatively to develop curriculum and educational activities in accordance with American Medical Association principles focused on healthcare delivery and on high-impact results. Key efforts include working to increase the usage of technology in medical education and to automate lesson plans that align with CME guidelines. She has several publications — regional, national and international — on quality management systems.
