Nicola D'Attellis, M.D.,

has been named medical director of the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) at Cedars-Sinai. D'Attellis joined the medical center in 2004 as Director of Education and Research for the Department of Anesthesiology. He is a specialist in cardiothoracic, vascular and transplant anesthesia and is also Director of the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai.

Leo A. Gordon, M.D., FACS,

delivered the annual Harold M. Clarke Lectureship in Medical Education at the University of Connecticut Health Center while he was Visiting Professor of Surgery on March 22 and 23. After spirited participation in the health center's Morbidity and Mortality Conference, Gordon spoke on "The M+M Matrix: Complications>Curriculum>Competence." Gordon is the Associate Director of Surgical Education.

Hanlin Wang, M.D., Ph.D.,

will join Cedars-Sinai on June 1 as director of Gastrointestinal Pathology and the Gastrointestinal Pathology fellowship program in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. Wang is currently an Associate Professor of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine and attending pathologist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis. He completed his MD training in China and received his doctorate from the Mayo Clinic. He is an accomplished gastrointestinal pathologist, a translational researcher and has lectured extensively, both nationally and internationally.
