8th Annual HIV/AIDS Conference - Friday, Sept. 28

Cedars-Sinai will present the 8th Annual HIV/AIDS Conference, "Emerging Issues and Challenges," on Friday, Sept. 28, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Intercontinental Hotel Century City, 2151 Avenue of the Stars. The course director is W. David Hardy, M.D., director of the Division of Infectious Diseases. Pre-registration and a fee are required. American College of Cardiology CEO Gives Grand Rounds - Tuesday, Oct. 2

Jack Lewin, M.D., chief executive officer of the American College of Cardiology, will be giving Cardiology Grand Rounds on Tuesday, Oct. 2, beginning at 8 a.m. in the Educational Conference Center (ECC), North Tower. Dr. Lewin's presentation, entitled "Fixing Healthcare from the Inside Out," will focus on physician accountability in health system reform.

Cedars-Sinai's Cardiovascular Disease Conference - Oct. 4 & 5

Cedars-Sinai's "Controversies and Advances in the Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease" will be held on October 4 and 5 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills. The conference is co-sponsored by Cedars-Sinai and Promedica International CME in conjunction with the California chapters of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Keynote speakers include Eduardo Marbán, M.D., director of the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute. The physician fee is $795. Cedars-Sinai's Emeritus Society Lecture - Friday, Oct. 5

The Emeritus Society will host a free lecture on Friday, Oct. 5, from noon to 1 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Lunch is available at 11:30 a.m. at no charge to Emeritus members and for $7.50 for non-members. Physicians Financial Planning Seminar - Tuesday, Oct. 9

All members of the medical staff and their spouses are invited to a financial planning seminar offered by the Community Relations Department on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Speakers from Mellon Bank, and several prominent estate planning attorneys, will discuss investment trends/strategies and techniques for generating income from assets. You will be receiving a program planning survey to find out what topics our Staff, Emeritus and Attending Physicians and their spouses would like to learn more about.
