Shlomo Melmed, M.D., was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians at an investiture ceremony held at the Royal College in London in July. This honor is awarded by a peer committee of the Royal College and this year, only four physicians worldwide were named Honorary Fellows as a reflection of their international leadership roles in medicine. Dr. Melmed is senior vice president of Academic Affairs at Cedars-Sinai.

John G. Harold, M.D., has been selected for the Stony Brook University School of Medicine's Distinguished Alumni Award 2007. He will receive the award on November 10 during the School of Medicine's alumni reunion at Stony Brook University's branch campus in Manhattan. Dr. Harold currently serves as president of the California Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the ACC Governor for Southern California, and he is the immediate past Chief of Staff at Cedars-Sinai.

Leo A. Gordon, M.D., associate director of Surgical Education, is featured in the September 2007 edition of Web M+M, the U.S. government's Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's monthly patient safety publication.
