Great Debate Set for April 3

"Great Debate" to Tackle Topic of Patient Safety and Compliance Efforts

The opponents have been selected and the battlefield is set.

On April 3, medical residents Joubin Gabbay, M.D., and Anjun Grewal, M.D., will face off in the Dr. Leon Morgenstern Great Debates in Clinical Surgery V resident competition. This year's topic is: "Are Patient Safety and Compliance Efforts Effective?" Dr. Gabbay will debate the position that patient safety and compliance efforts have made medical care safer, while Dr. Grewal will take the opposite position.

The debate will begin at 8 a.m. in the ECC. Last year's event attracted a standing room only audience, so plan to arrive on time as seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-seated basis.

The Department of Surgery sponsors the annual debate, which is organized and moderated by Leo A. Gordon, M.D., associate director of surgical education. Click here for an event flyer, or contact Dr. Gordon at Leo.Gordon@cshs.org for further information.
