Easter Sunday Services - March 23

A non-denominational Christian Service will be held on Easter Sunday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Chapel. An Easter Sunday Catholic Mass will also be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Both will be televised in-house on Channel 19. Diabetes 2008: What's Hot and What's New - March 29

This program will be held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday, March 29, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will provide physicians who treat diabetic patients with a comprehensive update on what's new in the field. The course is designed to update endocrinologists, internists, family physicians, pediatricians and allied healthcare professionals who are involved with the care of the diabetic patient. IBD Hot Topics 2008 - March 29

Cedars-Sinai is jointly sponsoring this half-day program on Saturday, March 29, at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel with the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, Greater Los Angeles and Orange County Chapter, to provide a state-of-the-art approach to diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. Great Debates in Clinical Medicine Resident Competition - April 3

The 5th Annual Dr. Leon Morgenstern Great Debates in Clinical Surgery resident competition will be held on Thursday, April 3, in the ECC beginning at 8 a.m. This year's debate will focus on the effect of patient safety and compliance efforts on medical care. Plan to arrive on time as seating is limited for this popular event. The Department of Surgery sponsors the debate, which is organized and moderated by Leo A. Gordon, M.D., associate director of surgical education.

Private Tour of the New Broad Contemporary Art Museum - May 14

Medical staff members are invited to take a private tour of the new Broad Contemporary Art Museum at LACMA on Wednesday, May 14. The cost is $40 and includes a light buffet dinner. Limit two tickets per physician. To reserve your tickets, please call Myra Castillo at (310) 423-2681.

Office Orthopaedics: Essentials of Non-Operative Musculoskeletal Care - May 17

This one-day course will be held on Saturday, May 17, in Harvey Morse Auditorium and will present management techniques for common orthopaedic treatments that can be performed in the primary care physician's office. Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Center surgeons and other musculoskeletal experts will present lectures to assist the primary care practitioner in performing the most common basic orthopaedic procedures. There will also be breakout sessions for demonstrations and hands-on practice of the various techniques. Cedars-Sinai's 6th Annual Physician Basketball Game - May 18

The Attending Staff Gomers will take on last year's winning team, the Housestaff Blues, on Sunday, May 18, at the Beverly Hills High School swim gym. Physicians who are interested in playing for the Attending Staff team are asked to contact Greg Orshansky, M.D., at OrshanskyG@cshs.org. The basketball game is sponsored each year by the Cedars-Sinai Alumni Association and Community Health & Education.

2nd Annual Women and Ischemic Heart Disease - May 28

This educational symposium will be held on Wednesday, May 28, from 2:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium and includes a complimentary dinner. The conference will explore cardiovascular disease and the sex-specific issues facing physicians and allied healthcare professionals relative to coronary physiology, diagnosis, risk factors, screening modalities, revascularization, prevention and medical management strategies. Hollywood Bowl Fireworks Spectacular - July 3

Cedars-Sinai medical staff and their immediate family members are invited to celebrate the Fourth of July at the Hollywood Bowl on Thursday, July 3. Cost is $110 per adult and $60 per child 12 years old and under. Limit one box per physician. Parking passes are also available.
