Yom Ha'Shoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) Commemoration - May 5

Cedars-Sinai will sponsor its 24th annual commemoration of Yom Ha'Shoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) on Monday, May 5, in Harvey Morse Auditorium from 12 to 1 p.m. (a boxed lunch is available at 11:30 a.m.) The program will feature a very special educational presentation by Rebecca Erbelding from the U.S. Holocaust Museum, the lighting of candles and a recitation of the Mourner's Kaddish (mourner's prayer). Private Tour of New Broad Contemporary Art Museum - May 14

Medical staff members are invited to take a private tour of the new Broad Contemporary Art Museum at LACMA on Wednesday, May 14. The cost is $40 and includes a light buffet dinner. Limit two tickets per physician. To reserve your tickets, please call Myra Castillo at (310) 423-2681.

Cedars-Sinai's 6th Annual Physician Basketball Game - May 18

The Attending Staff Gomers will take on last year's winning team, the Housestaff Blues, on Sunday, May 18, beginning at 12 p.m. at the Beverly Hills High School swim gym. Admission is free so bring your family and friends! The game is sponsored each year by the Cedars-Sinai Alumni Association and Community Health & Education. 2nd Annual Women and Ischemic Heart Disease - May 28

This educational symposium will be held on Wednesday, May 28, from 2:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium and includes dinner. The conference will explore cardiovascular disease and the sex-specific issues facing physicians and allied healthcare professionals relative to coronary physiology, diagnosis, risk factors, screening modalities, revascularization, prevention and medical management strategies. 23rd Annual Sports Spectacular - June 1

The 2008 Sports Spectacular, which benefits the Medical Genetics Institute at Cedars-Sinai, will be held on Sunday, June 1, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. The sports awards gala kicks off with a silent auction and kid's carnival from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the awards show from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. A limited number of individual tickets are available for $500 each. The Heart Foundation Gala Honoring Motown Legend Berry Gordy - June 7

The Heart Foundation presents its annual fundraiser on Saturday, June 7, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel beginning at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds from this year's event, "A Tribute to Berry Gordy," will support the research of Prediman (P.K.) Shah, M.D., director of the Division of Cardiology and the Atherosclerosis Research Center at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute. The 30th Annual Bernard Strauss, M.D., Urology Day & the Adolph A. Kutzmann, M.D., Lectureship - June 12

This year's lectureships will be held on Thursday, June 12, in the Harvey Morse Auditorium from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will focus on children with urologic conditions treated frequently in the practice of both the general urologist as well as the pediatrician. Cedars-Sinai Sand N' Snore Event - July 18

Bring the kids and join your colleagues for a fun sleepover for the medical staff and their immediate families at the Jonathan Beach Club on Friday, July 18. You bring the outdoor equipment (including your own tent), and Cedars-Sinai provides the food and entertainment. Cost is $45 per adult and $35 per child 12 years and under. If you don't want to spend the night, you can simply come for dinner and enjoy a relaxing evening at the beach. The cost for dinner only is $30 per adult and $20 per child 12 and under.
