Pioneer In Medicine Award Nominations

Nominations Accepted Now through June 9

Nominations for the 2008 Pioneer in Medicine Award are being accepted now through Monday, June 9. Please note that only attending category members of the medical staff can submit nominations.

This award is given to a member of the medical staff who has made clinical and research contributions recognized at Cedars-Sinai and in the national or international medical communities.

Candidates for the Pioneer in Medicine Award must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. The Candidate shall have made a major contribution to the Medical Center;
  2. The Candidate shall be or have been involved in research;
  3. The Candidate shall have been published in national or international peer reviewed journals;
  4. The Candidate shall be a teacher and positive role model;
  5. The Candidate shall be an innovator or have changed the medical world around him or her;
  6. The Candidate shall have made clinical contributions recognized nationally; and
  7. The Candidate shall have been a physician at the Medical Center during a major part of his or her career.

To nominate a candidate for the Pioneer in Medicine Award, please submit a letter with detailed information about the nominee's qualifications to Norman Schulman, M.D., Vice Chief of Staff, c/o the Medical Affairs Office, North Tower Suite 2211. Additional materials, such as your nominee's curriculum vitae and key contributions to the literature, are welcome. All materials must be received by the June 9 deadline.

A medical staff committee will select the honoree, and the award will be presented at the 2008 Annual Meeting on October 20.
