CSMC Awarded Magnet Re-Designation

Medical Center Earns Honor for 3rd Consecutive Time

For the 3rd consecutive time, Cedars-Sinai has been designated as a Magnet facility for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The designation, which was awarded this week following a successful site visit in July, is valid for a four-year period.

Cedars-Sinai was the first Southern California hospital to claim the honor of being named a Magnet facility in 2000, and the medical center was re-designated in 2004. We are one of only six hospitals to receive the award for a third time.

The Magnet designation recognizes nursing excellence as well as the strength of working relationships between nursing, physicians and everyone in the medical center to provide the highest quality of patient care. Nationwide, only about 5 percent of U.S. hospitals have earned the Magnet designation.
