Private Physician EMR Open Forum - Feb. 22

Paul Silka, M.D., Cedars-Sinai's chief medical information officer, and Darren Dworkin, senior vice president and chief information officer, will hold an open forum about extending the CS-Link electronic medical record program to private physicians. The information session will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Private physician input is needed to shape the program. Controversies Surrounding "Brain Death" - March 10

"Controversies Surrounding 'Brain Death'" will be the topic of the Ethics Noon Conference on Wednesday, March 10, in Harvey Morse Auditorium. The event is sponsored by The Center for Healthcare Ethics. The guest speaker will be D. Alan Shewmon, M.D., chief and vice chair of the Department of Neurology and director of the Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m. and the program runs from noon to 1 p.m.

The Other LACMA: Where Do We Stand? - March 12

Michael Govan, director and CEO of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, will speak at the Emeritus Medical Staff's Annual Henry and Lilian Nesburn Lecture from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 12, in Harvey Morse Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to all. Lunch is complimentary for dues-paying members and $15 for all others with reservation. The James R. Klinenberg, M.D., Symposium on Rheumatic Diseases - March 13

This one-day symposium will provide up-to-date information on how to recognize, diagnose, treat and follow common rheumatologic conditions. It will address the management of musculoskeletal disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, ankylosing spondylitis, lupus and gout. The conference is Saturday, March 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel, 1260 Channel Drive, Santa Barbara.

"Renoir in the 20th Century" Private Viewing - April 21

Enjoy a private viewing of Renoir in the 20th Century at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Wednesday, April 21. This exhibition is the first monographic study dedicated to Renoir since the comprehensive retrospective of 1985 at the Galeries nationales du Grand Palais in Paris, and the first one ever mounted by LACMA. The Attending Staff Gomers will take on The Housestaff Blues at this free basketball game sponsored by the Cedars-Sinai Alumni Association and Community Health and Education on Sunday, May 2, at the Beverly Hills High School "Swim Gym," 241 Moreno Drive.
