Glenn Pfeffer, M.D.

Dr. Pfeffer, director of the Foot and Ankle Center and co-director of the Cedars-Sinai/USC Dance Medicine Center, has been elected president of the California Orthopaedic Association. His one-year term begins in June. The organization represents more than 2,000 orthopaedists in California.

As president, Dr. Pfeffer will help steer the medical, legislative and professional agenda for the organization.


Rick Delamarter, M.D.

Dr. Delamarter received the Leon Wiltse Award for Best Overall Paper at the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery's Global Symposium. The event was held in April in New Orleans.

He was the first author of the paper, "Five-Year Results of the Prospective, Randomized, Multicenter Food and Drug Administration Investigational Device Exemption Pro-Disc-C Clinical Trial."

Dr. Delamarter is vice chair for Spine Services at the Department of Surgery and co-medical director at the Cedars-Sinai Spine Center.


Aliza Lifshitz, M.D.

Dr. Lifshitz will receive the National Medical Fellowships' Community Champion of Health Award. The non-profit organization provides scholarships for minority medical students. The awards, which will be given in June, are presented to those who demonstrate a commitment to public service, and a belief in the importance of achieving equity in quality access to healthcare and medical training.
