Sustaining Fulfillment in Work and Life (Ethics Noon Conference) – April 23

Speaking to the topic will be Bruce L. Gewertz, MD, chair of the Cedars-Sinai Department of Surgery, vice president for Interventional Services and vice dean of Academic Affairs. The Ethics Noon Conference will take place Wednesday, April 23, from noon-1 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m. The conference is sponsored by the Center for Healthcare Ethics.

Yom Ha'Shoah Commemoration – April 28

Cedars-Sinai will mark Holocaust Remembrance Day with a program on Monday, April 28, from noon-1 p.m. in Harvey Morse Auditorium. Renowned Holocaust historian David M. Crowe will be the guest speaker. Crowe is a professor of history at Elon University and a professor of legal history at the Elon University School of Law. Lunch will be available at 11:45 a.m.

Association for Women in Science Monthly Coffee Hour – May 13

Everyone interested in promoting women in science is invited to this monthly coffee meeting, which takes place the second Tuesday of each month from 4-5 p.m. in Davis 1004.

Sinus Center Patient and Community Outreach Conference – May 14

The Cedars-Sinai Sinus Center conference will take place Wednesday, May 14, from 6-7 p.m. in the Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion, PEC 8. The presenters will be Steven Kupferman, DMD, MD, and Babak Larian, MD. Kupferman is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon at the Sinus Center, and Larian is the chief of the Cedars-Sinai Division of Otolaryngology. The conference will combine lectures with an open forum and a question-and-answer session about sinus disease and problems of the ear, nose and throat. Light refreshments will be served. Advances in Neurology and Neurosurgery 2014: Bakersfield – June 7

The clinical neurosciences are undergoing rapid changes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders, particularly those concerning surgical treatment options. This course is designed to increase awareness of established and emerging treatment options for brain tumors, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, degenerative neurological and spinal disorders, pituitary disorders, and endovascular and stroke management. Topics in Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation – Sept. 6

This conference will provide updates in the clinical management and rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injury. It is designed for neurologists, neurosurgeons, internists, family physicians and physiatrists. The conference will take place Saturday, Sept. 6, from 7:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m. at the Luxe Hotel.
